Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors and take part in barbecues and activities. Sometimes we tend to pack a little too much into our day and all we can think about is to take a seat in our most comfortable chair while soaking up the cool AC or enjoying some summer air on the porch. Either way, it gives our feet a rest and allows us to unwind for the remainder of the evening. Usually for me, any chair or sofa would suffice, but after I took a look at these seating options from Bodie and Fou, my mind got to thinking about which seat I wanted to add to my apartment...

Reno Bonzo, the designer of the Gaivota Rocking Chair, has been awarded for his ergonomic and unique design. This chair was selected to represent Brazil at the Biennial of Design in São Paulo, Brazil.


The Fatboy Marimekko is one bean bag chair that you'll never get tired of. The colorful, vibrant pattern will bring a warm and inviting feeling to your home's lounge area.


Finn Stone has designed a colorful collection of Ball Chairs, each made from ABS and finished with a high-gloss varnish for an additional shine. These chairs are perfect for people of all ages and work beautifully indoors and out.


Paulo Mendes de Rocha's Paulistano Chair won the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Rosita Missoni from the Missoni family teamed up with Mendes de Rocha to produce this versatile final design. Missoni created the reversible cotton chair cover to give a single chair two beautiful styles.

Here is the awesome beach house by CplusC Architects. beach house located in Curl Curl, New South Wales, Australia. according the architect: The awesome beach house building responds to changing climatic conditions through natural ventilation in all directions, two integral fish ponds and vegetation that cool the summer breeze, and large awnings and timber screening to shade living areas whilst providing privacy. Public spaces to the east are separated from private spaces to the west by a central structural zone. Constructed of timber studwork and clad with Spruce veneer this core accommodates the service and storage requirements of the home and integrates corridors that link public and private areas.

The awesome beach house longitudinal division of the home is expressed externally with the metal clad butterfly roof which collects rainwater that is stored in an extensive sub floor bladder tank system. Externally, stud frame walls are clad with Western Red Cedar shiplap boards, stained black and orientated vertically. This creates a bold, modest aesthetic which contrasts with the clear oiled Western Red Cedar doors and windows, used specifically in this application due to its light weight and durability. A defining element in the interior is the sinuous skylight that runs the length of the building and washes light down the eastern external wall. Here is the Home remodeled from 15th century barn on the Island of Guernsey. La Concha House design by MOOARC. According the architects: The house was developed as a fluid, three-dimensional plan, inspired by ‘The Nolli plan of Rome’ 1748. The internal volume of the 15th Century barn forms the heart of the home. On the lower level, kitchen and dining is position below a more formal living space up on a mezzanine level. A more relaxed living/play space is set at the front of the house, opening out to a terrace.

Home remodeled at the rear, the sleeping block is linked to the living space via the entrance and vertical circulation.The bedroom block is stepped in across the width of the site to allow a visual link out into the rear garden from the dining space. The house was conceived as a separate sleeping block linked to the barn via a glazed entrance piece allowing the mass of the original barn to breathe. The retained structure of the barn has been revealed, with the internal space for living expressed as a single volume.
